Dual Contact Microphone System

Each pickup head uses high-sensitivity piezo contact technology to read the bowl's resonance at the source. Placed at two separate positions, they capture the full tonal range — from the deep sub-frequencies of the bass notes to the bright shimmer of the upper tongue tones.

Exclusive Tone Shaping

One knob. Every stage. Your sound.

The SHAPE control is a purpose-designed EQ curve for handpan — not a generic treble knob borrowed from a guitar pedal. Turn it counterclockwise for a flat, transparent reference tone. Turn it clockwise to simultaneously lift the bass and treble while pulling back the midrange — the live-performance V-curve that cuts through a full mix without harshness or mud.

        CCW — Flat mode: neutral, studio-accurate reproduction. Perfect for recording and intimate acoustic performances.

        CW — Shaped mode: bass + treble boost, midrange cut. The live-optimized curve that keeps your handpan present and clear in any mix.

The HMP-2 is designed to be intuitive the moment you plug in. Here's exactly what each knob, switch, and jack does.

SHAPE

Tone Shaping Knob

CCW = flat reference tone. CW = boost bass & treble, reduce midrange. Dial in your ideal live curve.

CH1 VOL

Channel 1 Volume

Controls output level of Channel 1 (MP pickup input). Fully independent from Channel 2.

CH2 VOL

Channel 2 Volume

Controls output level of Channel 2. Works with both new MP pickup and legacy H1 pickup.

CH2 PWR

Channel 2 Power Switch

ON = active mode for MP pickup (red LED lights). OFF = passive mode for legacy H1. No rewiring needed.

CH1 IN

Channel 1 Input

Dedicated input for the included new-generation MP contact microphone.

CH2 IN

Channel 2 Input

Accepts new MP pickup or legacy H1. Also supports older pickups with SHAPE tone enhancement.

CH 1 New MP Pickup

Channel 1 is optimized for the new-generation MP contact microphone. Full frequency response, ultra-low noise floor. Connect MP pickup → power on → done.

CH 2 MP or Legacy H1

Channel 2 accepts both new MP and legacy H1 pickups. Flip the CH2 power switch to match your pickup type — zero rewiring, zero compromise on tone.

      Note: When connecting an H1 legacy pickup to CH2, turn off the CH2 power switch and also turn off the main 9V battery power to avoid signal interference.
